Alabama Baseball Lands Ole Miss Transfer Pitcher Noah Allen for 2027 Season
Rob Vaughn's pitching staff just got deeper. Right-hander Noah Allen, a transfer out of Ole Miss, has committed to Alabama baseball, giving the Crimson Tide another power arm to build around heading into the 2027 campaign.
Allen, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound product of Watkinsville, Georgia, spent his freshman season in Oxford working primarily out of the bullpen in non-conference matchups. The numbers were efficient in a limited sample: an 8-appearance, 1-0 mark with a 2.89 ERA, 12 strikeouts against just two walks, and only three earned runs allowed across 9.1 innings. For a true freshman pitching for a national runner-up program that reached the College World Series, that kind of control and swing-and-miss ability stands out.
Size matters on the mound, and Allen's frame gives Alabama's staff another long, physical arm to develop. Programs across the SEC have leaned heavily on the transfer portal this offseason to retool pitching staffs after talent losses to the MLB Draft, and Alabama landing a player with SEC-caliber production as a freshman is a notable early pickup for 2027 roster building.
