Alabama Lands Four-Star WR Osani Gayles, Crimson Tide's First 2027 Receiver Commit
Alabama's 2027 receiver room got its first addition Saturday as four-star prospect Osani Gayles committed to the Crimson Tide. The IMG Academy product chose Alabama over Notre Dame, Stanford, Tennessee and Washington, capping a recruitment that included multiple visits to Tuscaloosa dating back to January.
Gayles' relationship with receivers coach Derrick Nix proved to be the deciding factor, with the staff reportedly pitching him as a versatile weapon who can line up in the slot, work the wildcat package and threaten defenses downfield. At 5-foot-11 and 185 pounds, he profiles as an explosive route runner with the burst to separate after the catch.
The commitment gives Alabama 13 pledges in its 2027 class and reaction from current Crimson Tide players and commits was immediate, with several taking to social media to welcome him to the program.
