Florida State Softball continues to make waves in the transfer portal, officially signing reigning ASUN Player of the Year Nicole Edmiaston on June 25, 2026. The standout infielder/first baseman from Freeburg, Illinois, brings elite power, consistency, and proven production to Head Coach Lonni Alameda’s squad in Tallahassee.
A Record-Breaking Season at Stetson
In 2026, Edmiaston delivered one of the most dominant offensive seasons in Stetson program history. Starting all 57 games, she slashed an incredible .453/.561/.900, setting new single-season records for batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. She blasted a program-record 23 home runs (tied for second in the ASUN), drove in 70 RBIs, and tallied 77 hits while posting a hit in 46 of 57 games.
Her dominance earned her:
• ASUN Player of the Year
• ASUN Offensive Player of the Year
• First Team All-ASUN
• First Team NFCA All-Region
• National Player of the Week honors (NFCA and Softball America)
Ranked as high as No. 49 in Softball America’s Top 100, Edmiaston was a nightmare for opposing pitchers and even contributed to Stetson’s run with a memorable performance against FSU in the Tallahassee Regional.
Now transferring to Florida State, the junior will major in political science and bring her experience as a CSC Academic All-District honoree.
What FSU is Getting
Assistant Coach Travis Wilson highlighted Edmiaston’s fit:
Nicole brings a lot of home run power and a plus .400 batting average to our lineup. She has gotten better every year throughout her college career. She elevated her game through multiple levels, and we have no doubt that her game will transition well into the Power Four level. She is a reliable first baseman and a pure hitter to all fields and will be a fantastic addition to Team 44.
Edmiaston adds immediate middle-of-the-order thump and defensive reliability at first base or the corner infield. Her ability to hit for average and power, combined with plate discipline (41 walks in 2026), makes her a major upgrade for the Seminoles’ offense heading into 2027.
Welcome to the Noles
Fans are already buzzing with excitement (#Team44) as Edmiaston joins a program with championship pedigree. From a small-town background to dominating at the DI level, her story embodies the grit and growth that define Florida State softball.
Welcome to Tallahassee, Nicole! We can’t wait to see you rocking the garnet and gold. 🔥
Go Noles! 🍢🥎
