FSU Baseball Lands Georgia Transfer Ty Peeples: A High-Upside Outfielder Joins the Seminoles

Florida State Seminoles baseball continues to make waves in the transfer portal, securing a commitment from Georgia outfielder Ty Peeples. The move, announced on June 26, 2026, adds a talented left-handed bat with significant pedigree to Link Jarrett’s roster as the program looks to reload and compete in the ACC.

Who Is Ty Peeples?
Peeples, a 6’2”, 188-pound outfielder from Lavonia, Georgia, was a standout prospect in the 2025 high school class. He ranked as a top-60 national recruit (with some outlets placing him even higher in state and positional rankings) and was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 20th round of the 2025 MLB Draft.

At Franklin County High School, Peeples put up eye-popping numbers:
• Senior year (2025): .476 batting average, 10 doubles, 12 home runs, 27 RBI, 41 walks, and 25 stolen bases.
• Junior year: .459 average with 9 doubles, 2 triples, 9 home runs, and 35 RBI as his team went 27-7.
He earned multiple All-State honors, Prep Baseball All-American recognition, and set a Georgia prep record for career walks (142). Scouts praised his projectable frame, left-handed power, speed, and strong arm from the outfield. georgiadogs.com
Limited Role at Georgia, Big Opportunity at FSU
As a freshman at Georgia in 2026, Peeples appeared in 32 games (mostly as a pinch runner and defensive substitute) with limited at-bats. He went 5-for-17 (.294) with a strong .520 on-base percentage, 2 doubles, 3 RBI, and showed patience at the plate. While his playing time was sparse in the competitive SEC, his tools and athleticism stood out.

Now heading to Tallahassee, Peeples is expected to compete for immediate playing time in the corner outfield spots. Analysts have compared the addition to previous impactful transfers like Max Williams from Alabama, noting his potential to step in as a starter right away with a left-handed bat that carries upside.

What This Means for FSU Baseball
Florida State has been active in the portal to bolster its roster after recent seasons. Peeples brings:
• Proven high school production and pedigree.
• Athleticism (plus speed and arm strength).
• Power potential from the left side.
• Experience against high-level competition, even in a limited role.
For fans, this signing signals continued investment in building a competitive outfield and lineup depth. With his combination of hit tool, power, and speed, Peeples has the profile of a player who could thrive in a bigger role under the Seminoles’ coaching staff.

Welcome to the Noles, Ty Peeples! Garnet and Gold just got a little stronger.
