Keon Ellis Signs Two-Year, $18 Million Deal With Brooklyn Nets — Former Alabama Guard Reunites With Alabama Alum Noah Clowney
Former Alabama guard Keon Ellis has agreed to a two-year, $18 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The contract includes a mutual option that guarantees the full amount.
Ellis, a Florida native, spent the first four seasons of his career with the Sacramento Kings before a deadline trade sent him to Cleveland last season. Known as a three-and-D wing, he's shot better than 40 percent from three in three of his four NBA seasons and has built a reputation as a tough, reliable defender — exactly the kind of veteran presence Brooklyn's young roster has been missing.
The move also reunites Ellis with head coach Jordi Fernández, who worked with him during their time together in Sacramento. That familiarity with Fernández's defensive system should help him get up to speed quickly in Brooklyn.
Ellis isn't the only former Crimson Tide player on the Nets roster. He'll now team up with former Alabama forward Noah Clowney, who started 60 games for Brooklyn last season and posted career highs across the board. Two Alabama products manning key roles for a rebuilding Eastern Conference franchise is worth watching heading into 2026-27.
