The Dallas Cowboys added a dynamic playmaker to their receiving corps, selecting South Alabama wide receiver Jalen Tolbert with the No. 88 overall pick.

The move signals Dallas's intent to bolster its passing attack with a receiver who has proven he can consistently create explosive plays down the field — exactly the kind of weapon a contending offense needs heading into a new season.
Tolbert's college production speaks for itself. Since 2019, he's hauled in an FBS-best 77 catches of 15-plus yards, a number that outpaces every wide receiver in the country over that span.

That kind of big-play ability translates directly to what NFL offenses covet most: a receiver who can stretch the field, break off chunk gains, and turn short throws into long ones. For a Cowboys offense looking to add explosiveness to its passing game, Tolbert's track record as one of college football's premier deep threats makes him an intriguing addition to the depth chart.

With his combination of size, speed, and a proven knack for winning down the field, Tolbert steps into Dallas with a clear opportunity to carve out a role early.

The Cowboys' coaching staff will look to develop his skill set as a vertical threat, giving quarterback Dak Prescott another downfield option to complement the team's established receiving weapons.

If Tolbert's college tape translates to the NFL level, Dallas may have found a steal at No. 88.
